A Crude Rail Loading Facility was constructed to facilitate the export of Crude. Two crude storage tanks were fabricated and installed and received crude from either truck offloading or incoming pipeline. The tanks were used to feed a 21 spot crude loading rack system via five shipping pumps. The system was designed to load an entire unit train in a 12 hour period. Excellence Engineering’s responsibilities included design of the electrical power distribution/control system, the instrumentation and controls scheme including the facility control philosophy and matrix, layout of all communications and network structure, organization and design of the software development structure and the interfacing of all controllers, end devices and users. The drawings provided include communication diagrams, network architecture drawings, cable and conduit schedules, electrical one-lines, instrument details, and loop drawings.
